PADEL TENNIS UPDATE

Not long now! 

I am sure many of you will have seen that the construction of the padel centre is taking shape. 

The canopy is nearly completed, the courts will arrive and be installed the week commencing 2nd of December.  Whilst PadelTech the court installers are on site Trevor May, the main contractor, will continue the car park, fencing, and flooring works in and around the padel centre.  

We had a fantastic response to our Founder membership offer. We released 100 memberships for £100 on the 1st of November and they flew off the shelf, selling out in a matter of hours. Due to the high demand, we will release more memberships on the 1st of December.  This membership will be offered at a reduced price of £125 for one day only. From the 2nd of December memberships will be at our standard prices which will be £150 for the year or £15 a month.  

Padel4all aims to make padel available for everyone – the clue is in the name. Non-members are welcome to book courts and to book into our facilitated sessions. If you haven’t already, you can sign up onhttps://padel4all.com/eastbourne/ to book online.  Court bookings for members (PadelPlus) can be made 14days in advance and 7days for non-members (PadelPlay). 

You can book on to all our sessions as an individual, the sessions will all be run by a member of the Padel4all team. If you are new to Padel we recommend you book an “intro to padel” session. It is only £5 for an hour, and we will tell you the rules, scoring, teach you some shots and advise you on your next steps, whether that be group coaching, private coaching, matchplays for all abilities, tournaments, box leagues or cardio padel – we have it all!

COMPTON CROQUET CLUB

Compton members enjoyed their annual prize giving presentation and Christmas lunch at the Royal Eastbourne Golf Club on Thursday 28 November. There were trophies and shields awarded to individuals, doubles partners and teams. It was great to see some new winners this year as well as our regular champions. 

The second winter doubles all day competition took place on Saturday 30 November and we were lucky the weather was relatively kind to the players.

Compton CC is running a series of events this winter that will contribute to the Health and Wellbeing of the club members. We had a very informative and interesting talk from Jane Mostowfi on nutrition and healthy eating for members. In addition, starting on Saturday 11 January, the club will hold a six week course on Tai Chi. We will also be running a ‘Frostbite’ event on 1 January, to welcome in the New Year, with both  croquet and social activities.

Compton Croquet Club continues to thrive hosting both national and international events as well as regular inter-club and club events. The club has 80-90 members and we welcome new players on a regular basis through our free introductory schemes. CRICKET CLUB

Eastbourne Cricket Club is calling players of all abilities to join our senior cricket teams at The Saffrons, one of the most picturesque grounds in Sussex.
