Our multi-sport ground spans 18 acres in Eastbourne, East Sussex. Established in 1886, it’s steeped in sporting tradition and the home of Cricket, Hockey and Football in the town.
The Saffrons is managed by a charitable trust, The Eastbourne Saffrons Sports Club Trust. We want more people to be able to enjoy a wider variety of activities and benefit from the grounds. Find out more about our aims here.

Our MEMBER Clubs
EASTBOURNE CRICKET CLUB
One of Sussex’s Premier Cricket Clubs, Eastbourne CC plays its home fixtures at the Saffrons throughout the summer. The Club runs 4 senior Saturday sides, a Women’s XI, a midweek T20 team, a thriving junior section, and Forward Drive, a free junior program for 4-9 year olds.
EASTBOURNE HOCKEY CLUB
The Hockey Club make use of the Saffrons astro pitch throughout the Autumn and Winter months. The club hosts matches at the Saffrons for its multiple Men’s, Women’s and Junior teams, as well as regular social events, at the the weekends, and training sessions during the week.
EASTBOURNE TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB
The oldest senior Football Club in Sussex, Eastbourne Town have played their home matches at the Saffrons since the ground’s founding in 1886. Now playing in the Southern Combination Premier League, the Club runs 4 teams from U18s and pulls in healthy crowds to every home game.
