FRIENDS OF THE SAFFRONS

OUR AIMS AS A CHARITABLE TRUST

Our beautiful grounds span 18 acres just west of Eastbourne town centre.  They have provided a backdrop for sport in Eastbourne since the late 1800s and are enjoyed by many year-round. However, we believe they offer scope for so much more.

Today, The Saffrons is managed by a charitable trust, The Eastbourne Saffrons Sports Club Trust, and we have a mission:

To benefit the communities of Eastbourne and the surrounding area through provision of sport, physical activities and wellbeing facilities. With the objective of improving the physical and mental health and wellbeing, and the resilience of those communities via recreation, recovery and revitalisation.

Our Projects

Along with the introduction of Padel tennis courts this year, we have plans to refresh and enhance The Saffrons Clubhouse. We hope to create a new outdoor hospitality space with the introduction of ‘Saffrons Yard’, and we have more projects in the pipeline.

Get Involved

You can get involved as a volunteer or by becoming a Friend of The Saffrons with a one-off or regular contribution, or by leaving a legacy gift. Simply get in touch via the form below and we’ll get back to you.

Future Volunteer

As our plans develop, we will be looking for volunteers who can use their skills and experience to help others.

If you have some spare time and are interested in ways you might be able to support the local community, we would love to hear from you.

Friend of The Saffrons

You can help The Saffrons charitable trust through a one-off donation or continued support. As a Friend of The Saffrons you can help us help local residents get healthier, feel fitter and support their wellbeing. Legacy gifts are also welcome, and a great way to help secure The Saffrons for generations to come.
